1993 Upper Deck World Cup Preview (English/Spanish) Soccer Forum

Can anyone tell me what upper deck set has the best player cards in connection with 94 cup? I see at least 4 such as 93 preview, different language combos, etc., and not really clear on which one, if any, is THE set to get among these options. Looking to get packs or box and aiming to get nice cards for bergkamp, baggio, valderama, bautistuta, and other stars of the tourney (not so much interested in honorary Capt cards or mia hamm cards although wouldn't necessarily mind given those appear to be more valuable cards).

If you are looking to avoid expensive packs (without Honorary Captains), try the sets that were not made for the US, Most that were not made in English do not have the Honorary Captains, therefore, usually are cheaper.

They released a few set that were very similar, just different languages.  Some are starting to get a little more expensive now.

Thanks for the responses. One last question -- do the '93 preview sets have rookies of good players that are then not rookies in the 94 sets for those same players? I am seeing that what is or is not a rookie is a little different for soccer and not exactly clear, but I guess the one thing I would want to make sure is that I would not be missing out on good rookies by going with the '94 sets as opposed to '93 sets.

Also, which set is the one with Minute Maid on the front of the cards? I kind of like those ones cuz they remind me of the excitement of the '94 world cup and the hopes for soccer in the U.S. and sponsorsphips were a big deal.
