RIP Leon Spinks.

You served your country in the marines.

Your 1976 Gold medal at the Olympics made the USA proud, and your brother Michael won middleweight gold in the same games.

Your 1978 improbable win over Muhammad Ali for the Heavyweight title was an accomplishment.

Your smile with missing teeth was infectious, thought you were a little hard to understand when you spoke.

RIP. I still remember getting a subscription to Sports Illustrated from my grandparents for Christmas, 1977. The first one that arrived in the mail: the February 27, 1978 Leon Spinks cover issue.
