Eddie Van Halen Forum

Man, this one hurts too. Neil Peart and Eddie Van Halen in the same year?! I know they were both in advanced stages of cancer, but it still stings.... RIP GOATS! He is the reason I have 5150 in my username.

Sorry to see all of these rockers from my youth disappearing.  I wasn't much of a concert goer when I was a kid, but before Covid happened, I was trying to make a point of going to see some of these bands wIhile they were still touring.  I have benn able to see Tom Petty (Hypnotic Eye tour), Billy Joel (playing his hits), Rush (R40 tour), and The Who (Roger and Pete anyway).

Not sure VH has toured in a while, but was able to see them a while back on the Balance and V3 tours.  Eddie was simply a master.

Still have a few more on the bucket list, if anyone starts touring again ... maybe in 2022.  Hoping I can get to see Springsteen, U2, and Elton John.

Me too. I drove from East TN to Greensboro, NC to see Tesla last year. Pulled up to Parking Gate to be informed lead singer was sick and Concert postponed. We had a great time anyway. I hope to see Sammy Hagar when all this goes away. As I type this I think, "the Bands I would like to see may not have a lot of time left...I should have but would like to enjoy what I do have left...so why not let us older folk live and turn us loose....

Slightly unrelated, I never got to see Van Halen in concert, but did catch David Lee Roth on his first 2 solo tours, the second is when he rode a surfboard above the crowd from the back of the arena to the stage for his version of California Girls.
