I saw it under this heading Your Suggestions that I believe Should be in Cooperstown so maybe it's just my confusion. Wouldn't be the first time that's for sure.....

Yep. I took everyone's criticism to heart on this one.
Trammell is in the Hall. I was ecstatic about that when I found out a couple years ago.
He's in that section because someone said that he shouldn't be in the Hall, and I gave my argument that he should.
Hope that you liked it.

Love the detailed research and write-up. I agree on Albert Belle. I feel that his relationship with the media and his perceived bad attitude has kept him out. I'd nominate Jim Edmonds as someone who should be in the hall or at least get more consideration than he has received.

Wow, that is a lot of research. I'm not sure I agree with all of your conclusions, but I appreciate the work that you put into making them. These are some high-quality posts.

I still love the original (and this updated) thread, and still appreciate the original post (and the new original post here). Thank you again.
I'm glad you did the research on Simmons vs. Freehan. Again, Freehan was mostly before my time (and AL) and Simmons was my hometown catcher that I didn't feel was HOF worthy until they made him one and I went back and really looked at his career. Your analysis seems consistent with my thoughts on him (and others you mention), and based on that I presume I would agree on the Freehan side as well.
And then there's Bill White. That is 100% my bad. As soon as I saw you wrote something like "I never even heard of the guy..." I realized my mistake. My Dad always told me that Ken Boyer and DICK ALLEN should both be in the HOF. That should have been my comment in the earlier thread. Sorry about that! Same number of letters in the names there, same era, and I think some common teams. Sorry for the extra research you did on that one.
Like many of us, I probably should have paid more attention to what my Dad said, eh?

Outstanding work. Greatly appreciated. Of course, there will always be debate, but you've certainly made excellent arguements across the board. I feel mostly vindicated, but I didn't get 100% per your judgment.
Regardless, thank you. 2022 inductee decisions aren't that far off....
[Edit: Yes, I've read that article before. It is, indeed, horrible, seemingly written mostly to stir up "debate" and be "controversial." A few conclusions are correct. Many are ridiculous.]

Wow, thank you for the extensive work you've done here! I'm going to split up the reading across my next couple of lunch breaks. Looking forward to it.

I actually enjoyed the status updates, so I can say that I do appreciate your efforts in taking the time soaking up all things baseball. The whole Hall of Fame debate is a tough one, so although there are names that you mentioned that don't strike me as guys who were as dominant as, say, Frank Thomas or Nolan Ryan, I can see why they're at least very good candidates. It truly depends on what everyone's line is set at for 'elite baseball player'.
The article looked like a fun one to write, even if someone may have just been trying to fill some pages given its length. I can't believe the guy thought that Lou Brock shouldn't be in the HOF. Some of the others, like Sutter and a few old infield guys, do make some sense and I've read about them in that Bill James book "Whatever Happened to the Hall of Fame?". I found it to be a very interesting read regarding some of the old ballplayers and how the Hall of Fame committees worked (and not necessarily well).

Great job BigBoyOnWheels . Spot on assessment on Will Clark . He was dominant with the Giants (86-93). Pitchers feared him and would pitch around him to pitch to Kevin Mitchell (1989 MVP). Why do you think he was on the cover of SI several times. Injuries slowed him down starting in 95 thats why he isnt in there . But its like Terrell Davis in the NFL . He had only 3 great seasons and he was awarded.

For those who enjoyed this, I'll throw out a plug for a new book--The Baseball 100 by Joe Posnanski (check my spelling on his last name, though). I read all of his 100 posts on line, and they were great IMO. Are they really the top 100 of all time? Arguable, of course. But maybe everyone could agree that they are 99 of the top 250 of all time, or something like that.
The stories on each are much more in depth than what you saw in this forum entry, but not all of it is stat driven--lots of good background info, too. I just bought two copies yesterday to give as Christmas gifts. (Sorry--not for any of y'all, so you're safe to buy one.)
