If you are road tripping it, there's another cool stop you should consider. Between Sandusky and Port Clinton, you can drive to Catawba Island and take a ferry (Miller's Ferry) into Lake Erie to Put-in-Bay island. Lots of cool stuff there. They have an antique car museum, a butterfly house, Perry's Memorial (which is featured on the Ohio State Parks Quarter) and a bunch of other stuff. I stopped in there on a road trip from Chicago to Cleveland and it was a fun single-afternoon detour during the trip between the cities.

i've been there 3 times, when i was a kid back in the 70s, once in the 90s when most of it was closed due to re-modeling, and again in 18 when the road in was all torn up.  so needless to say,my experience there hasn't been the best.   the locker room film was probably the hilite for me.  its not near as interactive as college football, nascar or basketball halls of fame, but still informative and time well spent.

You're welcome. It's a cool island with multiple options for touring it. You can drive your car or you can leave your car at the ferry parking lot and use the other options. You can rent bicycles or get buggy tours (horse-drawn or engine-powered). Might be some other options too. I was there in 2005, so it's been a while.

I been to Canastota.  Which is home to the Boxing Hall of Fame.  It was awesome.  I saw Bobby Chacon and Terry Norris get inducted.
