Here is where the politics come into play.

The nba released two statements which were polar opposites of each other.

The one in english said that the nba supports morey and what he said.

The one in chinese said that the nba was sorry for what was said and it will never be said again and that they do not support the person who said it .

So the nba is now showing that if any country does not like something they can complain and the nba will fold and change it.
