Robert “It breaks your heart. It is designed to break your heart. The game begins in the spring, when everything else begins again, and it blossoms in the summer, filling the afternoons and evenings, and then as soon as the chill rains come, it stops and leaves you to face the fall alone. You count on it, rely on it to buffer the passage of time, to keep the memory of sunshine and high skies alive, and then just when the days are all twilight, when you need it most, it stops. Today, October 2, a Sunday of rain and broken branches and leaf-clogged drains and slick streets, it stopped and summer was gone.” ― A. Bartlett Giamatti robertkimble.us/tradingcards

Oh man, I hope they're not actually broken!
I've had a lot of painful experiences, and my touchstone has always been "At least it doesn't hurt to lay still and breathe."
I don't envy your healing process, but I hope it goes by as fast as possible.

You have my best wishes. Hope your healing process is fast. (But I know from experience that as we age, we heal slower.)

When you fell, were you rushing to get my T-shirt in the mail?

Someday my cards may double in value and then be worth half of what I paid for them.

I had a couple of cracked ribs when I was younger. When the Dr. first spoke to me, she asked me if I was in pain. My response was, 'Only when I breathe.'. She chuckled, but it was true.

I've never broken a bone *knock on wood* so I can't imagine how painful it must be

OUCH! I hope they aren't really broken. I've heard stories of the difficulties with having broken ribs, but never experienced it myself (and I hope to never have that experience). GL!!!

Get well soon! I've broken a few bones and it's not fun. Never any ribs though...I guess I have too much "padding", LOL. Fingers and toes though...yeah been there. Mostly toes, and there's nothing they can do about that. When I was in 7th grade I dropped my math book, landed right on my toe edge first...heard the snap. Stupid math.

VERY slow trading due to health problems. Not transferrable so safe to trade with, just moving is painful and can't always access the cards. Get well quickly and tell your wife to dust the house before you get home, you don't want to sneeze. I am going to an orthopedic guy for tests on my right knee Tuesday. Never had a problem with it before. Must be from all that running, basketball and sports as a kid. Plus 20 years of umpiring squatting behind home half the time did not help. My son ran the Philly marathon a couple years back, I told him (even though he's an adult, you can still tell your kids anything you please), to give up distance running or you will be hobbling at my age. The body is not designed for certain things and the knees are the worst designed part of the body according to engineers and doctors.
In tonight's lineup, I will put you down as an "unhealthy scratch" instead of the usual "healthy scratch".
