Posted it here so I could easily upload the images. In another thread I pointed out that the Josh Gordan orange parallel card for the 2017 Panini Instant set was missing from the checklist. From what I can tell, the images for that set are typically the images direct from Panini (which is why they don't have the serial numbers on them).
I tried scanning the card so I could add it to the DB since the original card is no longer available on Panini's site, but the company ships their serial numbered cards in plastic cases sealed by a company logo seal. When I scanned the card, however (above), the images look blurry, and the only thing I can come up with is that the pastic case distorted the scan a little. I don't want to upload poor quality images, but, as I said, the images don't seem to be available any more on Panini and I'm NOT going to open the sealed case. Does anyone have any ideas/solutions?

There are a couple of Ranford's like that on here as well, I always feel one that is slightly fuzzy is better than nothing at all. There are slabbers and crackers here on the DB and you may hear from both sides but I myself am a slabber, to fix the issue I went out and bought a second scanner that can scan slabbed cards, there are two types of scanners you can buy, one scans surface images only, the other can scan depth. I do not recall the terminology but if you search the threads here I am sure you will find what you are looking for.

I don’t have a solution, but I believe the consensus here is that AN image is better than NO image. Those don’t look too bad to me. I have scanned one graded card into the database, and it certainly was not up to par. But it was better than nothing. I added a comment, essentially apologizing for the blurriness.

Those types of scanning issues have been discussed before. Some of the informative conversations can be seen here:

Can you see the difference?!?
Scanner VS Slabbed Cards
Hope this helps!

There are 2 types of scanners, and we have the same kind. :) I can't scan any of my encased cards without them looking like garbage (mine look worse than yours). Google it, you'll find which kind can scan the depth, rather than the surface.

Scanners that use charge-coupled device (CCD) technology are the ones for scanning depth. Contact Image Sensor (CIS) scanners can only focus on what is in direct contact with the platen (glass).

Someday my cards may double in value and then be worth half of what I paid for them.

OK guys...thank for the info...
The consensus seems to be there's nothing I can do short of buying a new scanner (can't justify that financially right now), so the image quality is what I'm stuck with.
The other consensus seems to be that a less than perfect scan is better than no image, so I'll upload the scans I have and let someone with more access than me handle it if someone can get a better image...
Admin: If you think the scans are not good enough, go ahead and delete them...

I was lucky to find the copy machine at my work had the depth of field scanner. It was a way better solution than spending my own money on new scanner.

Not sure if people missed this or not today but I will politely add that photos of cards are not allowed on the site, scans yes, photos no. I am not saying your app is not of quality just stating what I have been taught. Please take in stride and know I am only passing along known information. Thanks.
