Card Identification Forum

Ran across this card and not seeing it in the database.  it's very thin metal with nothing on the back.  Any ideas?

I could be wrong, but it looks like the back of the card was never attached. If it is in fact a manufacturing defect, it's not listable in the database. 

If it came from a pack that way, it would be a manufacturing defect. However it has been known that some people have removed the cardboard backing of Chrome cards using a soak method in the past, usually to try to scam people on Ebay.

I have an X-man chromium card that is like this and also some from a 90s college basketball set (Chromax? Or something similar).

I just assumed that had detached over time.

Interesting people would deliberately do this!

These were flooding ebay about ten years ago. Some forum members on another board figured out the entire operation and source of most of them. None of these type of blank back, "foil" only chrome or finest cards were pack issued.
