I got a 1991 Topps factory set today. Looking through the cards a bunch of them have the wrong players names and stats on the back. Is this a common error with the factory set?

I wouldn't be overly surprised considering the era, but I have never personally seen this particular issue. Other issues in the a factory sealed set, yes, but not wrong backs.

The cards I’ve gone through that have the wrong back almost outnumber the ones that don’t.

Wouldn't be surprised considered the millions of cards printed that year, but at same time, was the set factory sealed?

Completely sealed. Had a Caldor sticker on so it had to be from back in the day.

1991 Topps wrong backs are not very common at all. Id say 1991 Topps with 1990 Topps Football backs are even more common than these. 1987, 1988, 1989 Topps wrong backs, however, are extremely common.

I went through all of the cards. Half of them have the wrong backs while the other half don't.

I have a factory set that I haven't yet opened. Now I'm a little concerned. :) When I open it, I'll be sure to report back the findings.

Interesting. I usually just sort cards from the back so I don't always notice the fronts unless it is a star player, in which case I'll look closer at the card. This makes me want to go back and check out my set. If anyone has any they want to trade, I'd be interested in getting my hands on a couple miss matched ones.

Which factory set? The white box with red/blue print or the full color box?
