I picked the Dale Murphy one today. I have never heard anything about these but the photos of them (graininess of the photos, solid dark black boarders around photo, pixilated dots in the photo matching the dots in the numbers box over the Topps logo) all look pretty consistent. Hard to believe that these could have gone undocumented for this length of time but who knows. I can’t wait to see it in person and check it out.

I just can't fathom someone going to these lengths years later to make a 1990 Topps related knock off product.

When you say, "probably about as legitimate as most of the Venezuelan sticker sets," I assume you mean not legitimate at all. As in not licensed, but using team names and logos.

I'd be eternally grateful to anyone who can help me find a 1998 Bryan Braves (non-perforated) Kerry Ligtenberg and a 2000 Nabisco Albertson's Astros Chris Truby. Last missing items in a 10,000-card "set."

International enforcement of copyrights and trademarks has been somewhat inconsistent over the past 50 years.

So I just got the Murphy Sticker in today. It definitely looks like it had some age on it. I do not believe that it is a newer print or reprint. It was cut out of the album and the album and was glued to the album page in the top third of the sticker. The album has a place for that specific numbered sticker and has a short paragraph about Murphy. Very cool item. I agree that “legitimate” is subjective with foreign cards and stickers from this part of the world, but I believe it to be an undocumented sticker set from this 90-91 era.

That's the same impression I had with the Mattingly sticker. It's a shame the seller couldn't provide more background information.

There are some more on eBay now. Any more thoughts on them? Is it worth picking one up?

I haven't found any more info about them. As a Mattingly collector I'm happy I picked one up.

"Worth" is entirely up to the prospective buyer. While I paid way more than I would have preferred, it is getting extremely difficult for me to find any new cards of Roberto Kelly, Hensley Meulens and Dave Henderson, so I'm happy with what I got.

Thank you. You convinced me to pick up the Barfield for my Jesse Barfield collection.
