Hello.  I recently came across a Mark Mcgwire card to add to my collection.  The card doesn't has a blank front.  Is this a known variation?  Or was I scammed LOL?  I tried searching for it in the database but could not find when filtering to Mark Mcgwire+1989+Card #70.

You won't find these in the database. Blank sides happened frequently in the 80s (and were in packs, more the backs than the fronts, from my experience).

For awhile, you could buy these cards by the case from Kruk Cards.  If you for some reason needed like 2,000 blank or wrong backed 1989 Topps.

I've seen blank backs but never blank fronts.

The blank back cards do tend to sell a bit higher on ebay, not sure if they are actually worth what people pay though.  It's all about how they are hyped up as something rare or special.  I have a couple random blank backed cards which I enjoy collecting due to the novelty of them.  Don't go out of my way to get them, just pick them up when I find them cheap (certanly not the ebay prices people pay for them).

Thanks, all, for the responses.  Yeah, got it on ebay for a buck to add to my McGwire collection.  I had never seen one before and for a buck thought it would be a nice add.  My OCD wants to add it to my digital collection on this site, but alas, it'll just have to exist only in my physical collection ;-).

I add such oddities as this to the regular listing, then edit the details to indicate what is different about it compared to the regular card. I have several cards in my collections that aren't listable here which with I have done that.
