Thanks Chuck. That pretty much seals the deal in seeing the images. It looks like only the front of the card was canvas. 

How do we list them because they are signed by the artist and not the player?

But what do 1999-00 Pippens have to do with the 2000-01 Kobe card in question?

They're still a Pippen card, just signed by the artist.  I'd say, Note: "AU, SN175" and  "signed by artist" in Note2.

And as I and others have said, calling these proofs is bogus. Just a card company gimmick.

The Kobe card looks like the base card that is on the site. I showed the Pippen card to show what the equivalent of the card would have looked like if it was the year before i.e. to match the description on Beckett (artist signature, canvas textured front, hand serial numbered to 175).

If your card is different to the base card, it probably needs a side-by-side identifying the differences.

I'm not an expert regarding the 2000-01. I just have the Pippen base card and never seen any different to that in 20 years, and no Pippen collector I know has either.

Re: the Pippens vs. Kobe, nothing at all. The Kobe card is indeed just a base card. Your Pippen images though did help us root out a set that was listed that doesn't actually exist and find a set that was not listed.
