Seeing the curved corners, I think it's a plate. Topps likes to change up the way they put the plates out. Sometimes they add the final card back to the back of the front plate. Look at the card edge-on. There should be two layers. I have a 2007 Finest Carolina Panthers Black Plate. It has a three layers: cardboard border on the front, plate in the middle, and a full cardboard back. The front border tells that it is a 1/1 Black Printing Plate. The back doesn't mention it. I also have the AU'd X-fractor version of the same card. The only difference b/t the backs is the foil-stamped serial number. You can find the front and back scans here:

If you go to page one in that link, you'll find the AU'd card. I don't think the back is in there though.
As for no print on your plate, yellow plates do not normally have words. I have a yellow printing plate in my Photobucket too. You can find it in my folder named 'NASCAR Keeps'. It is on the first page. I hope this helps you!
