I just recommended that checklist uploads add a second method in addition to Excel [or another database] from a PC
It would be good to be able to upload a checklist from Google Sheets in the cloud
I have quit using Excel [and word,] and only use Google Sheets [and Docs,] in my continuing quest to find work arounds to MS Office [and the MS office license fee] and to store my documents in the cloud, to avoid data loss when my hard drive dies, or get scorrupted, and so on. I might not be the only one.

I use an ancient version of MS Office (1998)....
Where I have trouble with opeing later editions
I downloaded Open Office and it works just fine.....
Used Lotus 1-2-3 up to the point where newer MS Windows wouldn't run it....

A workaround is to simply sabe the Google Sheet as an excel file and it will upload fine.

Same here. It's one extra step but a very minor one I'm happy to do. I think this is a better way to go than asking Admin to implement uploading directly from Google Drive.

I've cut the chord / string from MS Excel, I've deleted the software from my PC

You don't need Excel software to save it to your PC; nor upload it to the database. You only need Excel if you want to open it on your PC.

Yep, just like Chuck said below my reply. I also don't have Office installed. On any Google Sheet you create, go to File, mouse over Download, and choose "Microsoft Excel (.xlsx)". You can then upload that to TCDB using the Excel import option.

Yep, I can't open .xlsx files, but I've uploaded plenty of .xlsx checklist files to the database.
