I tried to scan a 1991-92 Fleer 3D acrylic Scottie Pippen card. I couldn't get the background to be sharp. The way it is makes the 3D image pop. The other cards with focused backgrounds (that I have seen) look pretty much the same as the standard base card.

Is there a setting that can increase the sharpness of the text on the card, but still keeps the 3D effect?

I would be willing to give it one more try if there are some suggestions on how to scan it better.

This reminds me of scanning Flair Hot numbers.  Not easy.  I have scanned several lenticular or 3d card sets and sometimes you just fail.  Two tips.

1) Try scanning at 90 degrees or 45 degrees and see if it helps.  I have had cards become almost clear to no effect.

2) Try scanning through a mag holder of some other clear plastic case.  Occassionally getting the card raised a little bit pays big dividends and in combination with the rotating.

These are so thick that you need a CCD scanner. The standard surface contact only scanner can't handle them. I've done three of them, but I have a CCD scanner. 

I spent another 30 minutes on it and it is improved. You can read the text, it just isn't super clear.

I can't buy a new scanner, so this will be it unless someone uploads a better scan.
