1. Updating the site with cards, images, prices, etc?

2. Updating your personal collection summary; wantlist, buy/sell/trade list, etc.?

3. Suggesting new features that make it easier to navigate the site? ....and make the site more interesting.

4. Trading cards with other members and/or buy/sell cards with other members? Keep the card community abreast of what is available.

   I for one, find it very difficult to do all four.....What's your take?

#1 - Getting a checklist of all the Phillies cards available, by year, starting with 1951 going to present day (at the time, 2012). Done

#2 - After noticing not all the cards were there - Update the team designations on the cards I have and know about. Not complete yet

#3 - After seeing how different people like to go after different sections of the DB to fix, found my own niche - the glossary - around 8,000 baseball sets were missing definitions for the abbreviations used in the Note field. Not complete yet - but reduced to under 2,800

#4 - Update the Star Company listings - this will require me to actually dig out my plastic bin filled with my collection to add the proper checklists, and scans of all the cards. Nowhere near complete

#5 - Trade, trade, trade - Missing Phillies cards, 2015 Topps baseball Gold set, and anything else I deem "cool" (especially when sending cards out to someone in a trade). The occassional sale is good too. Anything to reduce the amount of "extras" I have and get more that I want to put in binders. Progressing nicely

#6 - Apparently, checking the forums on a regular basis, and helping out collectors whenever possible. I've been at this a long time (not as long as some), but in a wide variety of capacities. I have a different perspective than most. So I can offer a different view of the hobby. Very grateful for that. Ongoing

#7 - Adding scans of cards missing them (especially now that Billy introduced me to the photo editing software that can straighten out a slightly crooked scan!). Ongoing

#8 - Updating my "collection" on here. I'll never be able to get everything I have available for trade/sale on here (too much), but I do hope to have a complete and accurate "Collection" listing in the near future. I added many of my baseball sets before the option to add a set without SPs (or variations) was available, so a bunch of my sets sit at 100+% complete and that is not accurate. In many cases, I actually don't know yet, which cards I have and which ones I don't have. We also have a bunch of hockey sets (some are incomplete) which I want to get listed and get the want lists for the missing cards updated. In progress

I really came here for the first item up there 3+ years ago. Had some fun with the Pack rips. My son and I both had fun with the card guessing game. Now, it's one of the websites I hit daily, if not multiple times a day. I'm happy to help here. I really enjoy seeing a set missing some info when I first visit the page and then when I leave the page, knowing it isn't missing that info anymore. I also like consistency. I try to help that when I see that something is out of whack (like the SN xxx vs. SNxxx - Admin & I (and others?) have almost eliminated the spaces). So much to do here.

My Ranford Collection is what brought me here so that PC is priority one but .............

I correct each and every set that he is in along the way so it a bit of a multi task thing.

Secondly will be my Oiler RC collection if and when Mr Ranford is entered in.

Thirdly all my sets, traders, etc.

But my number one most important thing for the TCDB itself is ACCURACY. Will say it for the 100th time, I would love to see this place like the Library of Congress (is that even correct remember I'm Canadian) for hockey cards. =)

Right now my order is...

1. Updating and maintaining my personal collection

2. Updating the site with images and eventualy prices (though mostly for my cards) when the new beckett baseball price guide hits the market

3. Haven't gotten into trading just yet but will at some point during the year.

4. I really like the site and there is very little if anything I would want updated on the site.

I think for most of the average person, they're #1 would be to maintain a good data base for their own cards-

That was my thought when i first joined.. a great way to keep track and inventory of my own things and to see whats out there, but now-

#1- keep personal collection scanned and updated along w/ want list (which i despartly need to update)

#2- since i'm bored at my real job alot, i tend to spend a lot of time on here updating this site with SN's, names, teams, etc

#3- always willing to trade or buy from someone on here first

#4- i haven't cracked baseball in a long time, so going to start this year

#5 This site still has a lot of potential and room to grow, keeping it updated and providing feedback is key (GIGO = Garbage In Garbage Out) as long as the information we give and input is good, the better the output on here!

#6 My long term goal for here is to find all the break down ratio's, SP/Group distributions where you see the letter designations A, B, C, etc and update the sets w/ those numbers. I think its great to know that the card you may own is 1:1000 packs or whatever. 

#7 and keep collection growing w/out the other half know how much i'm really spending :-)

First and foremost an accurate checklist.  I think everyone does a great job with this.  With that said, there are a couple pet peeves I have with the checklists of a few cards I collect.  The 2000 Fleer Greats of the Game Auto set includes the Derek Jeter Auto that was made to look like this set, although it was issued at a later date in a different set.  We have the Jeter Yankee Clippings that was also made to look like the 2000 GOTG, in its correct place with the set it was issued with, why not the auto?  I know Beckett's places it with the GOTG checklist, but I think we should correct their mistake.  The other checklist I would like to see changed is the 2000 Fleer 3000 inserts.  I would like to see them consolidated in one place, similiar to how the 1999 UD 500 Club and the 2000 UD 3000 inserts are.  Makes it difficult, every time I get a new one to try and find which Fleer set it is in.  And since I brought up the 1999 UD 500 Club, I like the way that the autos are a separate checklist from the GU.  Why not do that for both 3000 sets mentioned above, a seperate checklist for GU Bat, GU Jersey, Auto, etc.

Finally, I would like to get one of my cards selected for the Card of the Day (hint).

I may be the exception to the rule here but I really enjoy uploading scans of cards.

I also use the database to help me with tracking our chase of the 2014 Topps Valor football set.  Impossible to finish but we're having fun doing it.

I visit the site daily, even if I don't have new scans to upload.  Keep up the great work.

For me I think the driver is to contribute and make the site as complete and accurate as possible. I would like the site to be the place to go to when looking for checklists, scans, etc. I am trying to work on the soccer section and would like to get it up to a good level, but also would love to have more soccer collectors onto the site. There are lots of collectors of soccer cards around the world. I just don't think many of them have found this place.

I also like seeing the site grow in functionality etc. and I will try to come up with ideas and improvements from my perspective. Being a soccer collector and from Europe (Sweden more precisely) I am a bit of an outsider and might have a different perspective.

Of course, keeping my collection up to date here to help me keep track of my collection is also a priority.

I like to work on one trade at a time, every 1-2 weeks

I trade 2-4 times per week total, most of which in other trading groups.

otherwise, spend 15 min/day updating an area of interest.  for the most part that has been adding teams to records that are missing that info in baseball

The answers about updating/correcting remind me of a Ford commecial from the '80s - Quality Is Job One.

Being a relative newbie, I'm using the site to force my hand at organizing and cataloguing my amassed collection, much of which has been hidden in storage containers in the attic.  Once I've gotten a handle on that, I think scanning missing cards would be next, followed by updating checklists. I've enjoyed joining the site - I've learned a whole lot in the past several months.

Trading? It's been a pleasure trading with the few members with whom I have.  I admit, the 70-75 hour/week real job means that I sometimes are a little slower to send, but I guess I just need to reorganize my priorities!
