I have noticed an increase in the number of mockup card images being uploaded recently, particularly in the On-Demand products. This is a friendly reminder that mockups should not be uploaded to this website, only scanned card images. A link to the Image Guidelines is below.

It's all about the points.

Someday my cards may double in value and then be worth half of what I paid for them.

Agreed, which I have never understood. It is not like there is some "big" prize. It gets you more permissions.

For what it's worth, removing the Top Members from the front site page or hiding it deep in the stats section can possibly cut down on the point farming. If there's no visible "trophy shelf" (top list), they will lose a reason trying to make it and to show off. By the way, I am NOT saying that members on that list are point farmers and if they make it for the good reason, it is really great for the community, but that list can also be a magnet to point farmers.

I actually agree with this reply! Points are ONLY good for permissions and all the new members coming in over the past few years are trying extremely hard to move up the lists (Top Members and 30-Day Points) only for bragging rights. Very few members in the Top 50 or so even cares about points anymore. Remove that portion of the home page and it's just a link at the very bottom of every page where all the other links are that most members never click. I fully support removing that "feature" from the home page. There was another "feature" on here a few years ago that got bumped off the main page for the Memoriam portion. I don't remember what it was off the top of my head, but maybe we bring that one back in place of the Members list.

I do not support removing the All-Time and last 30 Days lists, not only because I'm on it, but because you'd de-incentivize people who want to make legit contributions.
Maybe a safeguard needs to be created to prevent people from uploading inappropriate things. Don't forget- there are a lot of site rules with which only a handful of people are truly completely aware.

When one goes to upload an image, the guidelines are on the upload page as follows:
Images should be:
- In .jpg format.
- At least 250x350 pixels.
- Less than 1MB in size.
- Properly cropped.
- Rotated to the proper orientation.
- Scanned, not photographed.
- Without any signatures, writing, or watermarks (unless released that way by the manufacturer).
- An actual image of the card itself and not a mockup.
(Note: I have stripped out all of the hyperlinks)
It's right there in black and white. No one can plead ignorance when it comes to uploading images for cards. There seem to be a lot of new members who have a hard time understanding #6 and #8.

In my case, I was not doing it properly at first, but now I am starting to get the hang of these things, (and of course I make those minor mistakes that do get fixed and worked on,) but I also can agree with that the all time leaders group, it is setting a bar, that people will take the images from somewhere else and use it to break it. I could go either way with removing it, maybe keep it in a separate page for people to view, and replace it with something like the history of this site in more detail maybe a list of new members that have joined. Yeah, I like the new members who have joined part.

Thanks - TwinKiller. (Luke)

Back a long time ago, I know I was guilty of posting markups. From it happening to me, I think people just don't know that they are markups. I completely agree that the point leaderboard should be taken off and maybe used in a small area or the yearly awards.
