You'd think they were photos, they're terrible scans!

I downloaded the images and put them in my image software as I always do to get a good look. You can see the edge of the case at the bottom. but not on the other 3 sided
Yes, it a photo. no scanner would do that.

As the original poster and owner of the cards, I can attest that I tried numerous things so maybe that's why some look like a photograph.
But anyways, not here to discuss whether I scanned or photographed those cards. I have my answer that the scans are not acceptable quality
Thanks, all!

I just found this info on the site under the FAQ section regarding images.
- Should graded/slabbed/top loaded cards be scanned in their holders?
-
Graded and slabbed cards should not be scanned in their holders unless the card was released that way by the card manufacturer.
Cards should not be scanned in top loaders. If the card was released by the manufacturer in a top holder, sealed with an authenticity sticker, while the preference would be for the card to be scanned outside of the holder, the site understands that this may not always be possible

But at least use the proper scanner that gets a clean image. Please????

There's also a big difference between an "authenticity sticker" and a company sticker used to keep the card from sliding out or keeping a one-touch closed.
-------------------------------
Someday my cards may double in value and then be worth half of what I paid for them.

No one seems to understand that difference. Most people think that sticker locks in the $$$$.

As someone that just returned late last year from an almost 14 year absence of any meaningful collecting, I've just learned:
- What a one-touch is
- Those stickers don't actually mean anything
Slightly leaning towards cracking them open since they are for my PCs.

In the case of your card. The card itself has the authenication on it; the gold foil stamp "Topps Archives Signature Series".
And yes, companies using one-touch and stickers is just over-the-top packaging. Giving the illusion of "more value".

If you had 2 of the cards and one had the sticker and one did not and they were the same price which one would you choose? If you choose the sticker, then the sticker has "value", if you do not choose the sticker, the sticker still has "value" for the "stickered" collectors.
Just my opinion.
