That is FUNNY that you mention the Space Coast. That is exactly the basis of my Lego build. As soon as I saw this in my Lego catalog a few months ago, I knew I wanted this more than anything reasonably-priced since the "The Simpson's" house (that I still don't have) from many years ago. The 50th Anniversary Tribute of the Apollo 11 moon landing:
I'd rather visit the Space Coast than Legoland, FL: but I'd do both if I got down there. I've been a fan of Legos and NASA since the mid-80s when I was a kid. I couldn't care less about Disneyworld. If I do get to Florida someday, it's Cape Canaveral and Legoland that I want to visit.
I thought about making a different thread for this, but this one is just as good to post the pictures. What surprised me was how intricate the plan was for the lunar lander. This thing took me 7 1/2 hours to build!!! It also weighs almost 2 pounds. It's the most intricate and incredible LEGO build I've ever done and it was totally worth it. It was a blast (pun intended)!!!
I did take a few short breaks for runs to the restroom and/or fridge and a break to pull a trio of new t-shirts from the dryer and fold them and put them away. I'd still guarantee that this thing took me 6.5 hours to build completely. It weighs almost 2 pounds and is basically a 7.5 inch cube in all directions. That is the coolest Lego creation I've ever done and I've been building stuff with Legos since at least 1985! Most were my own creations from the Legos I own and many were spacecraft I designed myself as I built them. They had to have a computer program to create this specific design! At nearly 1100 pieces and several pieces I've never seen as a Lego piece before, this couldn't have been built by someone with an endless supply of already-made parts.

Pretty cool about the Monster LEGO Build! Our Daughter is an Entertainer and Ambassador at LEGOLAND (Winter Haven, Florida). Sue and I were just there on 12 DEC. She is on Her way here today to visit with Us on the Space Coast. LEGOLAND is a beautiful and colorful Place. Remember being there around 1974 as a Teenager when it was Cypress Garderns (still a small portion of LEGOLAND). Good Times, Good Times!! May each of You close out well the final Days of this Decade!!!
