Today I decided to pull out my vintage purchase [pins and other collectibles only] I made last month. I wanted to see if any pins were listed on TCDB. I found the following:
- 1910-12 Sweet Caporal Pins
- 1932 Orbit Pins - Numbered (PR2)
- 1932 Orbit Pins - Unnumbered (PR3)
- 1933 Cracker Jack Pins
However, I also have pins that were obtained at the annual ASCCA Shows sponsored around the country. I have them from 1973-78. The problem is findind a checklist or at least compiling one. ANY HELP???.
Included in the lot are Gehrig, Ruth, DiMaggio etc. pins that I can't find associated with any CL, without some serious research, they remain in limbo. They might be standalones?, shame, they are beauties worthy of the TCDB community to share. ~BOB~

IMO...they're pins NOT cards.

Someday my cards may double in value and then be worth half of what I paid for them.

Chuck, Yes they are not cards, but no doubt listed here. lol. So unless there is an issue, I will list them in the appropriate sets. Sometime, long before I became a member, listing pins were acceptable. ~BOB~

1 & 4 were made by comanies that were card manufacturers at the time. I don't know about the Orbit ones. I do know about the other 2.

Please see my highlighted text below in the FAQ. This means all 4 sets mentioned in the original post are allowable here according to the guidelines.

- Is it ok to add entries for other types of collectibles?
Other collectibles that are inserted into packs or boxes of traditional trading cards are allowed to be listed in order to fully document the inserts that were included.
Other items made by card companies, sold via card retailers, and authenticated by card grading companies are also allowable.

Too bad they didn't print on the gum included in the wax packs. Just kidding.

Any HELP with the ASCCA Show Pins, think they are legit as an annual entry, but the CL is the problem?

Not made by a card maker - not listed by PSA (or any other card grader).
I would say NO to ASCCA pins.
