Alright, I downloaded photoscape x and it seems to be really user friendly. I went back into my queue and cleaned up the scans that I had submitted before and resubmitted. Thanks for all who responded and have contributed their knowledge through various posts here and/or blogs. I have gained quite a bit of information just by using the forum search function and checking out other questions posed there.
