Since i have gotten Back I have ran across a few cards that look like refractors but the pictures dont help. Besides seeing a variety of colors is there a real way of figuring it Out.

I am Stuck on this subject not liking the time it is taking and not being able to figure it out. Any Suggestions.

Refractors don't look like base cards at all. They usually look like they are glowing from within.

Refractor below.

View at an angle, holding the card flat, between you and a light source.  Easy to tell that way.

I thank you both. To me it looks like a Refractor but I guess I have to buy a normal one to make sure. But thanks It looks to be one. Just hard to belive I got one from a buy from Ebay.

I don't know if they all do now, but a lot of refractor cards say so on the back somewhere usually near the card number.  Same goes for the Prizm cards.  That is usually how I tell most of the time.  I'm not sure when they started doing that, but pretty sure they have for the last 5 years or more.

Topps stopped adding the word Refractor under the card number a couple of years ago.

If you move the card around with a light source on it, you will see a multitude of colors on a Refractor. If there is no rainbow, then it isn't a refractor. Easy to tell for regular Topps and many of the other sets b/c of the glossy covering. Much harder to tell on a Chrome card though, so the light source and moving the card is the best indicator.
