if you're talking about the personnel ranking, you need to do things that acure points, IE: scan cards, enter CL, Validate Names/ Teams (all in the "Things To Do" section)

The top 100 members? You earn points by contributing scans and checklists mostly.

I'm going to reevaluate how I collect after the new year. It's just getting way too expensive for the new stuff. Sometimes I just want to buy a pack, not a whole box or even blaster.

No problem. It takes a lot of work. I'm on here pretty regular and have contributed a lot, but I'm not in the Top 100.

I forget the point system but pricing doesn’t get you a lot of points.

RE: Pricing
Please be sure to only use prices that actually occur and not ebay listing prices (as they aren't always accurate - people can list something here for literally more than a year* at a price where it will never sell, so therefore, it is not a valid price). And please do not use "Book values" either.
* - I can actually give an example of one card I've been watching since it was listed back in November - of 2016! Still up there abd double what I'm willing to pay - and the seller knows what I'll pay, and still won't lower the price.

Under Stand I watch Alot of Bids so I have a Good record of what was sold and at what price I agree with you. I just found a topps gold card of Griffey that a Dealer has sold the at 4.00 each. I have no way except he say he did and the counter only says he has 1 left. But I havent updated that one because I cant confirm.
Most times I use only what i paid or what it was at the Bell. Hope that makes sense.
Thanks Again

like in the days before a printed guide. The price is what a seller and buyer agree what it should be. Like gold or stocks I got GE stock I will sell to you for $35 a share, It selling right now around $14.50 So is my asking price make GE worth $35. No it is what it selling for.
I remember working on a 1962 and 1961 set. I went to a card show I bought some stars in EX+ condition. plus some commons We agreed on 65% of book for stars, and some mid-high and high #'s commons, by time we were done. More like 75% for stars and he threw commons in. But in the end he wanted my $150 I was willing to give to him. Besides I had to buy gas and pay tolls and eat out on NJ Turnpike.
A common was a card you were willing to add to sell the other card. Hell cards only cost 1 cent new. back in the day.

Robert “It breaks your heart. It is designed to break your heart. The game begins in the spring, when everything else begins again, and it blossoms in the summer, filling the afternoons and evenings, and then as soon as the chill rains come, it stops and leaves you to face the fall alone. You count on it, rely on it to buffer the passage of time, to keep the memory of sunshine and high skies alive, and then just when the days are all twilight, when you need it most, it stops. Today, October 2, a Sunday of rain and broken branches and leaf-clogged drains and slick streets, it stopped and summer was gone.” ― A. Bartlett Giamatti robertkimble.us/tradingcards
