Could use a little guidance. I read through the August 2017 Rules and Guidelines PDF. But...I'm still a little confused. I am trying to figure out where insert/parallel release notes should go. I also cannot find this info, even on high profile sets like 2018 Topps baseball.
The guideline document says:
Rule IX: Never use a Note to show insertion odds or pull ratios, and only include this information in Note2 for unnumbered (NNO) sets.
Explanation: Card issuers may provide insertion odds in one of two ways, static or variable. Static odds, also called single odds, are the same for every card of that type, and are commonly used for parallel sets released in relatively high numbers, such as “one gold parallel card in every four packs”. Static odds should be placed in the release notes of the specific insert or parallel set.
Example: put “Insertion Odds: 1 in every 6” or “Insertion Odds: 1 in 3,456 Hobby, 1 in 7,379 Retail” in the insert set's release notes if all cards in that set were issued with those same odds.
I can't even find where to add a Note or Note2. Nor do I see "release notes" on any insert or parallel set. For example, I just added my very first card to the collection, from this Topps insert. However I can't see release notes anywhere on the Set Overview or the Insert's own checklist page.

I'll try a canadian kick of the can. If your new here and have no history (aka points) earned up yet the best thing to do is to get your "Permissions" level up. They are short quizes you take to earn the ability to edit the site. Look at the bottom of the home page and click the Permissions link. Once you get up to the highest level it will be easier to hit an edit button on the card screen to change/add data. This is when you will see the Note and Note 2 feilds as editable. They should be visible at any card's page with any number of things listed. From RC, MEM, SN??, etc. As for adding scans you will understand that better as well as soon as you take the Permissions quizes. Hope that helps.

Hi, welcome.
In the lower left of every page, under the "Account" header, you'll find a "Permissions" link. Once you complete quizzes there, you'll be given access to do certain things around the site. You may go up to "Level 6" just by understanding those basic rules. Level 7 and Level 8 only comes through earning points and/or time as a member. (Earn points by uploading images and checklists.)
If you have any questions about a specific set's notes or anything like that, feel free to send me a private message (just click on my username or avatar to reach my profile page and there will be a link there to send message). I'll be happy to help or clarify any Notes questions (as I was one of the members who helped develop the document you referenced).

Thanks to both of you and this all makes sense now. "Permissions" is part bot mitigation, part education, and part gamification, so that makes sense. There are no quizzes on the permissions page that I can find but I assume I need to be above level 1 to see the quizzes.

I have been adding things like odds of pulling and where certain cards where released as in retail stores for BLUE Border and RED border ones in the trivia section.
Think of in 20 years from now Toys R Us wil be unknown to new collectors.
The big toy store me years ago was Kiddie City but alas no more. (Thank you Toys R Us) Was the only place you could but Lionel Trains for a time.
There was a Playtown store but not sure if that was a big chain

Robert “It breaks your heart. It is designed to break your heart. The game begins in the spring, when everything else begins again, and it blossoms in the summer, filling the afternoons and evenings, and then as soon as the chill rains come, it stops and leaves you to face the fall alone. You count on it, rely on it to buffer the passage of time, to keep the memory of sunshine and high skies alive, and then just when the days are all twilight, when you need it most, it stops. Today, October 2, a Sunday of rain and broken branches and leaf-clogged drains and slick streets, it stopped and summer was gone.” ― A. Bartlett Giamatti robertkimble.us/tradingcards

Thanks for the all the guidance. I did the quizzes and went to add some insert release notes such as stated insert ratios per the guidance for formatting:
“Insertion Odds: 1 in 3,456 Hobby, 1 in 7,379 Retail”
But I believe I mistyped some of them., however I cannot edit what was submitted because it's hasn't been published yet. So, my question is, do I wait until it's posted and then edit or just submit a "new" release note now and it will override the previous?
