It would also involve moving PIDs as well. That would be the primary purpose of splitting stuff out is to have different PIDs. We don't want the adult stuff getting a PID for non-adult stuff, just as CAD mentioned in previous posts. I realize that the underage set cannot access the adults-only areas, however, as CAD mentioned, what happens if a kid is with their parent on here and the parent is the one logged in, and you think you're looking up a comic book character, but there's an adult actress with the same name that has cards linked (incorrectly, but, we know that happens all the time) to the comic book character, and if they are rather explicit (as some of the cards on here are), that could be quite challenging to overcome that. We really should do what we can to protect our site and keep something like that from happening. All the PID policing we do can't prevent that one little slip up.

k... thanks for the heads up... guess I won't be doing any Disney perusing at work...
It sounds like it will be more complicated than it should be honestly. Also, it's not hard to lie about age. maybe separating isn't the right answer... removing tagging names on adult sets might be closer... sorry guys if you're looking around for the same lady on a card... one way makes the cards way too accessible, (separation,) other way makes them more a challenge, (elimination,) and the current way makes them a nasty catholic surprise..

OK, I gave it some thought. The system that Admin has devised is great. Those who want access to the adult images can get it. Yes, kids can lie about their age to get access, but you know what, they are asking for the access. Admin is not granting access to everyone, and then revoking it when asked to. In the US, you're not allowed to buy cigarettes if you're under 18. How many 14-17 year olds do you see smoking? You can't buy or consume alcohol under 21. How many teen DWIs do we see? Or underage parties? Those that want to get it will get it. No law, rule, or hurdle for access will stop someone. If a 15 year old wants to see the benchwarmer cards, do you really think they can't just do a google images search and find a large portion of them? If they want to find it, they will. All CAD and, now, I are proposing is to find a way to help keep it away from those who don't want it. This may be away from the original point, but I think this is where this started to go.
If "adult" is the only separation we make in Non-Sport, that's not bad, but Non-Sport has become a behemoth. I think more NS categories would be ideal, however, I see so much cross-over bewteen the sub-categories, I honestly don't know how to cleanly break it up. There may even be some legitmate overlap between the adult and non-adult stuff! (Didn't I just see Carmen Electra in some "blocked" cards? Didn't she also do TV work?)
We're a smart bunch, let's figure this out.

so we can all agree, I think, that Adult themed cards are making the hobby a bit challenging?
I didn't mean to eliminate the cards entirely... no no. I meant to eliminate the links by names... but this poses another option... when it links say Carmen Electra to an adult theme, a separation should occur THERE. it can be made invisible to people who don't wish to see it, possibly make it a search option via name? like google does. "Turn filter off. Set to Moderate."

Basically a switch that shows or does not show adult cards. A filter. You'd open up the browse non sport section and lets say top right hand corner has a turn filter off/on function. when it's on adult themed cards DO NOT SHOW IN ANY LISTS!! making it kid and parent safe.

we'd need to be more vigilante on documenting "Adult" content though... one would need to ensure it's listed properly or serious fallout could occur... :P
