I sort of came to a similar conclusion so I started tossing the cards I like in a diff pile and now have 3-4 blasters of randoms cards to make a Frankenset. I’m ordering them all by number to see what it looks like. I do like the Heritage and archive sets of the last few years and have been building those base sets and the 96/7 metal uni Baseball and hockey. I found I buying up a bunch of bulknboxes that I was dangerously close to having the 2017, 2021, 2022 Topps sets without actually buying very many of the cards. And just finished the base of 2023. I’ve not gone so far as bindering it all and I’m not sure if I will. I’m thinking of paring down DLL sets into the cards I like that tell a story of something. I may totally dispense with numbers teams and so on on that case. I’m still adding stuff and trying to get a handle on my stuff. I do have a bunch of 2-5” stacks of various years of Fleer, donrus, UD, score, both cheap junk wax and their fancier lines. Not sure if I’m gonna put those up but if anyone wants to trade castoffs in bulk I’d be happy to give you what you need out of mine for something I don’t have. Reach out to me, I’ll be opening up the trades again soon, just wants add and file all the recent years inserts to trade too. Reach out and we’ll talk some Turkey before I let the m masses start jockeying for whatever Judge Trout Bryce Ohtahni Soto item I don’t realize I even have. So I’m curious if anyone else pares sets down to the highlights or goes into frankensets too. Maybe I’ll start carving cards up into Frankenset cards? Randy.
