Hey everyone!
Later today my LCS is hosting an event where Topps products are discounted and there will also be trading happening. I believe this is called Topps Rip Party.
Has this happened before? Any advice on what to bring? Thoughts?

I spoke to the owner of my LCS about it yesterday and it really isn't much. He said they only gave him 25 packs to promote this which tells me Topps dropped the ball trying to promote it. From what he said it was basically left up to the LCS owners to promote it. Bad marketing on Topps part. Who knows, maybe other LCS's might fare better than mine with it. I know my shop has more than 25 customers.

There is one at our LCS later today. Curious to see the different stories that come out of this event.

LCS had a box of gift bags, got a pack of 2023 Topps Heritage and a bag of penny sleeves. In random bags there was a opportunity to win a Topps Rip Party t-shirt. Allot of 2023 Topps product on sale. Store had trade opportunities, provided pizza and had a coolest card pulled contest. They did a great job of putting the party on and advertising it.

My LCS told me Topps sent them a bunch of "Topps Rip It" t-shirts to give out. Of course, not enough for everyone, but some.

Had a good experience at my LCS. For every Heritage High Number hobby box that was discounted to $50 you bought, you get a pack of unique cards and a t shirt. I didn’t buy one since I already had most of the set, but I did buy a couple hobby boxes from 2022 (Chrome Update and Chrome Sonic) that were discounted to $45-50. I enjoyed participating in a “rip battle” where you selected a pack from a box (2023 Allen and Ginter and 2024 topps) where you compete with other people in the store to win hanger or blaster boxes. For example, if the goal was to find the heaviest player in the pack, you needed to beat everyone else in the store ripping packs to find the heaviest player. Whoever pulls the heaviest player wins. Some kid pulled Jordan Walker (who apparently is 245 lbs, didn’t know that, will have to add it to my baseball’s big guys list) and won a 125-count vending box of 2022 topps which was interesting. I didn’t win much accept a 1992 Topps Finest Football set because I guessed what year Finest first started in a trivia game. They also had food and drinks, not much trading going on, but overall a fun experience.

I didn't actually go today but my 21-year-old son works at a big LCS in L.A. and they were very crowded all day, with some good deals on various Topps Baseball products. Several customers pulled big cards in the shop during the day, including a 1/1 Stadium Club SuperFractor by someone who bought a single pack. I stopped in at a different LCS yesterday and they had a selection of 2022-2023 blaster boxes for $15 and discounts on nearly all recent Topps baseball products. They sold us blasters at $15 last night even though the Topps Ripped promotion was really today. I got the impression that Topps provided a little bit of stuff to give away but sold them cases of blasters and some other things at a discount to support the promotional prices they offered today.

Very nice! Your LCS is in SoCal, right? What's the name of your LCS?
