I can't remember the last time I went to a show -- ten years ago? But the Mid-Atlantic Card Show was only a few miles from my house, so I went. And I bought seven vintage cards, including five Hall of Famers I needed. I was only there for about 45 minutes, but it was fun. Lots of things I have no interest in -- refractors and modern stuff I just don't care about. Lots of graded cards way out of my league. But I enjoyed negotiating the prices and just being surrounded by cards and collectors for a bit.
Where are all these people when not at shows? Cuz there's only one LCS that I know of near me, and it sold all its binders of 1960's commons, so completing 1965, 1966, and 1967 Topps baseball is gonna be a challenge.
Anyway, I mildly fantasized that someone from TCDB would spot me and recognize me, but that didn't happen, and I wasn't organized enough to coordinate with anyone here who I know is local. No point to this post really, except to say that you should go to a show if you get the chance.
Happy collecting.
