What is more valuable to you, an authentic autograph versus a gem mint condition?
A card has a real auto, but with a mint 9 on the condition.
Or
A card has no auto, but with a gem mint 10 on the condition.
Presuming you have two copies of the exact same card, which of the above is more valuable to you?

I'd prefer the auto, but then again, I could care less about graded cards.

Based on the options and given it is the exact same card, definitely the autograph with a mint 9 on the condition.

Depends if the card is certified autograph card as part of the set or a nice card with an autograph added to it.
I’m personally not interested in “signed” cards that are part of an official release, whether authenticated or not. But that’s what’s fun with the hobby. I have numerous friends that love TTM autos and appreciate their joy in it.

The Card with the auto would be my favorite of the 2.

gpgoodman,
It's interesting you mentioned that, because I was going through my collection box today, and I noticed I had a card that was signed, but it had two signatures.
The first signature was the original one that came with the set card, and the second signature looks to be a hand signature that was done on top of the first one. Not exactly on top, because I can distinguish easily between the two.
I'm thinking, at some point, I might send it in for an authentication service, along with the grading of the card itself, just to see how the grader will label this card. I'm assuming the second hand signature will be determined for authentication, not the original set signature.

When you say "original set signature", are you talking a facsimile autograph, like on the 1982 Topps cards?

Ok, so it seems most or maybe all would take the auto in that situation.
But what if the auto is on a condition that is further down the grade, like NM-MT 8, or NM 7, or further down? At what point would you consider a no-auto on a high condition versus an auto on a low condition?
