$11+ for an envelope... ICK

Been selling Metal Miniatures in  5 x 7.5 Clamshells,

shipping in a 5 x 9 Bubble Envelope...

Normally around $5.60, if I combine two packages into one

(10 miniatures vs 5) cost has only been in the low $7 range....

No insurance but do get tracking #s....

My gripe, been in local PO over 150 times in the last year,

still have to put up with their "Hazardous Material" etc etc spiel...

I have gone into the PO more than once and asked how much this package would cost me to send.   They give me a price and a couple of times I said NO Thanks as the buyer was not willing to pay that much.  

I have sent more than once cards in a top loader to Canada with one stamp on it with no problem.

One of the clerks had a buddy that sent cards through the mail, and he give me a few pointers.    Most of the clerks I have no problem with.   The one I did have issues with is no longer there.

A friend just had the exact same thing happen. Not even in the same city. In their case they created a cachet (which is when stamp collectors add artwork to an envelope and get it mailed or cancelled with a cancel related to the artwork or stamp).

Handed over the envelope and asked the clerk to cancel it. The clerk then told them as soon as they passed it over to be cancelled  it was now property of Canada Post and they would not return it. 

Rather than a standard top-loader, for 1-3 cards I use one of those ones for sending in cards for grading. If more cards than that, I use a portion of a soft page with cardboard for backing. Either way I weigh it and add sufficient postage and drop it in the mailbox at the Shoppers Drug Mart postal counter (a 1 minute walk from my office - very handy). So far, no returns, no postage due, no damaged cards that I know of.
