Hi everyone,
First time caller, long time listener.
I've been a member here for a while, and have completed a few trades/sales with other members. Thanks to you guys, you know who you are. I've also uploaded close to a thousand card scans to the database, almost exclusively from my Roberto Alomar collection. I know he's a bit of a pariah these days, and perhaps rightly so. But this PC of mine has been going since 1990, when I was a teenager and Robbie was my favorite player.
Over the years this collection has taken on a life of its own. It's where I focus all of my latent OCD tendencies, and I really enjoy scouring the web for cards I don't have. God help me. As XTC said, you've got to have a hobby....
Anyway, as someone who has been online since the early 90's and watched the internet grow, from the days when email was in its infancy and "otalk" was a legit way to communicate with others from VAX stations, I have to say that TCDB really is an internet treasure. I really appreciate the effort that has gone into TCDB. It is one of a kind. It is functional and very well administrated, and I give all the props in the world to the guys that make it run. Especially Admin, whoever you are, you shadowy overlord. Second place to Vroomed, who I secretly believe may in fact be masquerading as Admin. Dan, I know you'll protest mightily, but I still have my doubts :).
So hi to all the members here. I plan to start poasting more now, after 6 years of just lurking. And if you have any Alomar cards on my wantlist don't hesitate to reach out. Looking forward to contributing here in the days to come.
