I'm new here and just trying t find my way around (more like stumbling). I found the user manual and was able to ad some of my collecions but want to build a want list. where would those instuctions be?
I collect a lot of different things, antique Baseball, some specific players... Thuman Munson, Catfish Hunter... Riight now I'm focused on Antique Cricket tobacco cards1926 Players and Sons "RIP" are top of the list of sets. I'm also working (slowly) on a 1989 Topps Hockey set
So if anyone is willing to mybe guide me around a bit it would be appreciated.

Welcome to the DB! You've already gone through the phase most us have when we first got here, stumbling about pretending we know something!
As for you wantlist question, there are several ways to go about it. Since you know how to add to your collection, adding to the wantlist is similar. You look to be both a PC (Player Collector) and set collector. You'll find plenty of both here. With that said, generally there are 3 ways:
1 - From the Collection Overview screen of a set instead of clicking on Add / Update Collection, go down one line to Add / Update Wantlist. From there just click on the cards you are looking for and they'll get add (showing in pink instead of blue). You can even mass add blocks of cards by
2 - You can bypass one and still add. From the dropdown menu on the set's screen you'll see an option "Add to Wantlist." If you utilized #1 you can add blocks of cards using the dropdown and "Add from Here". That'll bring up a screen to indicated what range you want to add.
3 - From the set's actual checklist you'll see a dropdown at the top of the screen. An option on the dropdown is "Add all missing cards to Wantlist". This will add every card not shown as being in your collection to your wantlist. You'll see and option that allows to to add with or without errors or variations.

You can use the same tactics when you are on a player's page also. While I described what would happen from a set's screen, if you bring up a player's page that focused on his/her cards you'll have similar functionality.

Welcome!!!
As mentioned there are a few ways to add to your wantlist. On the Collection Summary page you can click Add/Update wantlist and then either click cards individually or use the dropdown to mass add all missing cards. You can also look up individual players or teams and they will have a summary page where you can mass add or select individually. Same for teams. Just keep poking around and you'll be good!

Welcome to TCDB!!!!
I joined about a year and a half ago and couldn't ask for a better DB and great community of collectors
Just a suggestion if you are looking to trade, make sure you have cards listed on your For Sale/Trade list.

Welcome to the site! If you want more detailed info about doing anything on this site, feel free to send me a PM (personal message) by clicking my name to the left of this reply. It's odd that most of the replies come from members just as new to the site as you are. I don't know where all the other long-time and experienced members are right now, but I'll offer my knowledge to you. jimetal did give you some good info, but there is some stuff you might be wondering that he didn't answer. This site has become SO complex that specific questions are much easier to answer now than broad questions. Ask me anything that you want to know or haven't figured out yet and I'll answer it.
