Since I rarely have been able to find cards in the wild, my collecting has mostly been trading for older cards and buying 2nd hand from flippers on ebay.  I'm hoping that as gas prices rise, not as many people will be willing to drive all over the state buying up every card on the shelf and I'll be able to find cards for a change.  In that case, getting them from target or walmart will certainly be cheaper for me and I'll be able to buy more.

One of our biggest flea market shop in our town is closing down.  The guy I know that is into sports cards.  His mother own it and the family runs it.  He is dumping most of his cards.  They went from all of their stuff in the store to 20% of their stuff and renting out the other spaces to other sellers in the last several years.  More people wanting them to buy then people wanting to buy from them.  The other sellers are leaving and the rent on the big bulding is getting to be way to much.  He told me moving low end stuff is getting,  not worth the time and effort.

I skipped filling up the tank today and scooped a box of Topps Opening Day at Target!

I can see that.  No one wants to deal with the hassle of the nickle and dime stuff.  They all want the $50+ cards.
There are a few dealers out by me who sell huge boxes at a time of all the small valued and common cards they couldn't quick sell.

I want to go to shops where you live lildog.  My nearest shop wants 25 cents minimum for any common, even 1987 Topps full of creases.
