Quick question before I hit the hay ......... when the card says "1 of 1" on the back do you list it as SN1 or PR1, I have always agonized about what is correct. Yes me!! =) Later all.

If it's stamped or written, it should be SN1. It doesn't matter if the card is stamped "1/1" OR "1 of 1", it should be listed as SN1. A lot of cards have been listed as "1 of 1" over the past 15 years. It was shortened to "1/1" for several years but the "1 of 1" has been showing up a lot more for the past few years. Bottom line is: either way shows a Serial Number on-card and therefore it's NOT a print run #'d card.

Just for the record, I agree - 1 of 1 is the same as 1/1 - and any card that there is only one of should be labeled in our database here as SN1, whether it has an actual serial number on it or not.
Now a card that says 1 of 10, should be PR10.

I agree so far.
By extension, how do we feel about the various sets that were imprinted with the word "SOLO"? Do those count as SN1?
I'm inclined to say yes. Since there is a statement on the card that identifies it as unique I think it should be a SN1. I have used PR1 for sets where there is no statement of population on the item but it was advertized that only one set was made, the various Pinnacle Mint Solid Gold Coins, for example.
Thoughts?

I have asked the admins about what constitues an SN label versus a PN label, and they said the definition they want the database to use is: any numbering that is stated on the card is to be labeled as SN. Even if the run numbers are common knowledge, if they are not printed on the card its self, they are to be labeled PN.
