First- Congratulations!!!!
It seems many of us found this site in a similar manner and I am glad you shared your story because there are many times when I want to make a post to simply thank admin, everyone who contributes content and every member who has taken the time to read and / or reply to my "wordy" comments, those who have helped or taught me how to do things more efficiently and for the overall sense of community found in the forums and messages. For all of the listed reasons and even more that I'll remember after I hit "Post" - I find myself constantly referring people to check out and join the site. Whether telling my friends, bar patrons or other collector acquaintances (who joke that I'm on the "marketing team") or the strangers I meet when looking for that possible "hidden" pack of cards on the (now) empty retail shelves--- nearly all have expressed thanks for the reference- impressed by the impressive collection, array of features, easily navigated pages and the helpful discussions.
I don't know about "point farmer" remarks but could attempt to guess the meanings... and not unlike your post, I honestly don't know my point total either. I know at one point it wasn't high enough to bypass the 18 and over content ;) Regardless I think 800,000 points is quite an accomplishment and serves to notify me that I have almost assuredly benefitted from your contributions and for that; Thank you!
I haven't read all of the responses yet but clearly there is a lot of "love" for this site and it's creators. I may mention my appreciation and gratitude often but it there is no ulterior motive; complete sincerity. I have not had the opportunity to interact with other women on the site but none of you make me feel different or as if I don't belong and trust me when I say that is a rare but truly amazing thing. I've never felt "aware" of my gender here which may seem odd to read but in reality when talking about sports or watching games etc I have dealt with people quizzing me before hearing my input to a conversation...something that doesn't happen if talking about fashion or entertainment. One couldn't count how many times I've been asked if I'm a "...Bengals fan because of the cute striped helmets..." Seriously. I digress as I don't want to hijack this post (any more than I already have) nor turn it to something other than what it should be: a celebration...to 10 years and 800,000 points and a mass "group thank you" to those who created this site and to everyone continuing to contribute and give life to a growing community.
Cheers and Happy Friday Everyone!
Becky Elizabeth
P. S. - Who Dey?! - and if you want to know while it is most assuredly not the reason for being a Cincinnati Bengals fan; I do like the striped team helmets. Ha!
