My local Target only sells cards that sell for at least $19.99 at 8:00 AM Friday's. I work at this time, so that I won't be buying any blasters at Target. They also have a quantity limit of 3 for any prices. This limit doesn't effect me, because the selves are always bare. I find the state of the hobby to be generally depression.

Last week I went to Target on my way home as I had to go run some other errands. I walked around and saw a 4x125pack of penny sleeves. Couldn't price check it and thought about tosssing it. Decided to buy it, was $6.25 with tax. Glad I did as I just saw top loaders on BCW are backordred a year!!!

I will blindly reply without reading the rest of the thread and please be offended if need be but as a long time collector I need to respond before I see any other comments ............... seriously?! Are you the guy who complains when all the cards are gone off the shelf when you get there because of all the blood sucking profiteers have bought the place out and you searched four stores and went home pissed? Because my gut says you are but now you're complaining because the store heard the complaints about the BSP and took the time to protect others from being screwed out of enjoying the hobby. I'd stand there just like the goobers who would for a Playstation 4. You can not have it both ways so please be adult about it and stand in line just as you would the bank, a grocery store or ER and wait your turn. Sorry for the triade but some people seem to be upset in the MEverse we all live in. Remove my post if you need to MODS but this is 2021 in a nutshell.

Not offended, and I am not blaming the store for moving the cards. I am upset with the state of the hobby that has caused the stores to have to do this.
Part of the hobby to me was being able to casually go to the card section any time i happened to be at the store, and look at a selection of items and buy a pack to take home and open later for fun. My time spent in that section was short and it was just a quick stop while there to purchase other items.
Its not the same experience to have to go to guest services and start checking on the supply. That takes this from a casual buy to hunting down cards with a purpose. So agree or not, I’d rather just not deal with the whole thing until this all blows over and I can look at a selection on the shelf in peace just like any other item.

I just went to my local Walmart and the card area was gone with other products filling the space. I went to the customer service desk and asked if they had any cards. They said they didn't carry them anymore.

I was at one of my local Walmarts this past Friday, just past 6 PM. A guy was putting up some cards on the shelves. It seemed like mostly Magic & Yu-Gi-Oh!, but he also put up some Topps hanger boxes. There was a line of several 30-40something guys waiting. While it was at least orderly, it still felt...unseemly. It would be sad if this was the norm going forward. I continue to hope that at some point in the near future, flippers will get bored, move on to something else, and the rest of us can collect in peace and buy some new stuff on occasion without too many hoops to jump through.
