Hi looking for some advice on my first bad trade on here. Received cards and 16 of 22 had bad corners, bent corners, white corners, etc. I offered two solutions:
1) full trade back
2) I keep the 6 cards I'm ok with and he proposes what he'd want to keep from the trade and we send the rest back to each other.
neither worked for him - I could pick some of his other traders as a replacement - said he's not sending any cards back and pay for additional postage. Problem is I don't really want any more of his traders if there were issues with 16 of 22 already sent. (FYI In all my trades I've only had issue with 1 other card sent).
just got a message saying I am being unreasonable and he's now not going to do *expletive*.
Any advice welcome.
concerned if I put a negative feedback he'll just do the same.

My suggestion is to eat it and move on, block him and forget about feedback. I know some will probably say to give negative feedback, i would just move on. The point of counter negative feedback is not worth it. Now if these cards were really high value i think it would be worth the feedback, but probably not if just traders.
You are fairly low in the comment section right now and one bad one for you would look awful (drop you to 97% positive), so I wouldnt at this point.

I just came into the same situation. He did respond with a snarky reply and offered to return the cards he got along with a stamp and I keep the cards from him.Thing is when I checked the cards I was trading away I took the time to send a message asking if the CL having some boxes checkmarked was OK, His response was thats fine. I would think this was the perfect occasion for him to let me know that 6 of the 16 cards I would receive had serious condition issues such as badly bent corners, light creases. The other 10 cards I recieved were not all that great either. I do not have FB advice as I have not left any at this point. I just put the worst cards back on my wanted list to acquire later.

I have recieved cards from some that are lackluster and you feel cheated when you provide really nice stuff. In some cases though you flat out know that they are taking advantage of us. My tip is start with a smaller trade first to determine if they are a crappy trader. Then move to something bigger and keep a list of who those crappy traders are so you never have to deal with them again. I seriously got cards with food stuck to them once! The only time I did negative was when some dude never sent me the cards. Two years later he apolgized and said he was trading too much and lost track and sent me some of the cards that he still had. I never removed the negative though. It was really probably just a scam to remove the negative and scam someone else. That or there really was something majorly off on this dude. Just move on. Hope it was inexpensive. I just trade inexpensive stuff.

I don't trade very much, but the point of feedback is almost totally lost if no one is willing to offer negative feedback. Then everyone will get 100% and it will all mean nothing. Maybe we should have the ability to respond to/explain feedback like eBay does. (Oddly, it might make sense if people could not see their own feedback. Then they couldn't give revenge feedback. They could learn privately from the trader that displeasure was in the air. I know that would drive people crazy, so it'd never work.) There has to be some solution to the revenge feedback problem. Hell, I'd be happy to volunteer to mediate, decide on disputes as part of a little committee, and leave "rulings" in lieu of feedback where there's a contested feedback problem (I mean, I AM a judge). But I'm sure we don't want to get into that kind of sinkhole.
Anyway, I'm always sad to hear about trading disputes. Trading here should be generous and good-willed. And, in my experience, it mostly is.

Like Ebay, I would like to know if I should bother dealing with someone. If one does not comment in some way that this trader not only sent banged up cards but refused to help out, that just means that another trader will bump into the same problem. People should be able to have a heads up of what they're getting themselves into.
I agree that some kind of feedback reply would be good. I also think that one may want to ask 'what are the conditions of your cards?' every time one makes a trade with someone new just in case. Hopefully the person is truthful in their reply.

Thanks for all the input. I agree with pretty much everything being said. I really want to leave feedback so others know and can avoid, but how is it just if the likelihood is that I'll get negative feedback in return and my future trading is affected because of this guy. I love the idea of being able to respond to feedback or even having a deprecate committee decide...that being said, of 40 trades or so I've made on here this has been the only issue I've run into. Think I will just take it on the chin and move on. Thanks everyone for taking the time to provide your insights!

Honestly, if I see negative feedback on a profile, I go read the feedback of the person that left the negative to see if there was some sort of a retaliation. Please, as v3 said, when truth in feedback is not used, feedback is useless.Others deserve to know and be forewarned.

I am with Dan and V3. As long ss you explain in feedback people will figure out if it is real or retaliation. Plus always read feedbsck before you do a trade with anyone. Hooe you can get settled.
