There are a lot of guys and gals here that need a pat on the back for what they are doing. I feel most members do not know what some members are doing for them. I will not name names as I may get into trouble if I leave someone out. Most of use know who they are. A big Thank You

I like those early bowman's. Not enough to build a set, but team set for sure.
The supply of 48 and 49 seems so much less available in the common areas like ebay and comc.

I just purchased my 6th Doug Wilson 1 of 1 off E-Bay. I stalked the card and guy for 3 years and he finally budged off his ridiculous price by a lousy $10 bucks. But since I've made a killing this month on selling Nike Jordan Spike Lee sets, that I assumed were worthless, I splurged and bought it. I'm getting there slowly but surely. Less than 100 Dougies to go before I own em all..........

Always looking for Blackhawk hockey, Notre Dame Football, White Sox and Bears Stuff. I have a plaque in my card room that says, "I could have been a millionaire but my mom threw out my baseball cards". How apropos!!! Collecting Chicago Blackhawks Hockey, Doug Wilson Hockey, Chicago Bears Older, Notre Dame Football in their college jerseys and Chicago White Sox.

When I got back into collecting in Oct of 2019, you could still get series 1,2 Topps, Topps Update, and even a bunch of series 1 2018 Topps at the local Walmart. I bought a bunch of Topps Update and was opening them and only half paying attention. I looked down and thought what the heck is this? It was the cyan printing plate for Cavan Biggio RC. I didn't even know what it was, had no idea they were doing stuff like that. I do now.....

Oh to live back in the days of having cards at target and walmart. That's an amazing pull from a retail box for sure!

Can I say my biggest find recently is managing to buy some BCW card stands? Supplies are so hard to find here in NZ at the moment!
Can finally add some new cards to my display cabinet.

Managed to pull a 1:247 Auto out of a MVP Hockey box. All my luck seems to only come out when it's not my main sport(Football). Anyone else get this crap shoot of luck.

My "Celebrate" story that involved Bobby Orr:
About 2 years ago I was going through some of my boxes of hockey memorabilia and found an old press photo from Nov./1943 of a Toronto Maple Leaf player named Wilfred "Bucko" McDonald. Taped to the back was a short write up of the player and the up-comming game to be played against the NY Rangers. I did some research on him and found that he actually coached Bobby Orr when he (Bobby) was a youngster. He was also the one responsible for changing Orr's postion from forward to defenseman. He encouraged Bobby to be an offfensive defenceman and rush the puck up the ice. This got me thinking "I wonder if Mr. Orr would like this photo for his own collection". I wrote to his people (and attached a copy of the vintage photo) from Great North Road and asked if he would be interested in having this for himself. After showing the image to Mr. Orr they wrote back and said, "Yes he would love to have it". So I sent it off to them. About 2 months later I recieved a very nice hand written note from Mr. Orr himself thanking me for sending him that vintage photo. I was not expecting anything back but was pleasantly surprised that I did. That personal note is probably my favorite item in my collection.
