Good day there folks my name is EJ Reid, aka Jim Mint. I just joined tcdb.com a few hours ago and I really am kind of amazed to see these trade sites exist as I was ignorant to such a fact. I just wanted to say hi, thanks for having me, and COOOOL!! As I have read through a few threads it seems as this is a grand alternative to such platforms as ohhh, say Feebay, or whatever the youngins are calling it these days. Seems to be a good group of peeps in here and I am thrilled to be amongst such good company. I am still just getting familiar with the platform layout may I ask if there is kind of like an initial thread that can describe some of the do's and don'ts, etiquettes if you will, on basic buy/sell/trade processes. I would be much obliged if someone could give me a nudge in that direction. I assume we can communicate through email as that is how we sign in. Well, thanks again folks for doing something like this and also for letting me be a part of the network as well.
all sincerity,
EJ, Jim Mint

As I suspected I hadn't delved deep enough and after completion of the above inquiry I had a message in my mailbox giving me that nudge. Thanks again guys. Also, I have bought/sold on sites such as Feebay, Mercari, as well as Facebook and such. Do we operate in the PayPal goods and services features for protection such as FB?
Thank you in advance, EJ/ JIM MINT

Welcome! While there are some who buy on here the vast majority prefer to trade. The site has a lot to offer...I've been here almost 10 years and still discover new things. Explore and ask questions and someone will know the answer. The more effort you put in the more enjoyable your experience will be. Putting things on your wantlist and trade list is a good start. You will be surprised what people ask for. The majority of the members here are set builders rather than modern hit chasers, although they are more than welcome as well.

VERY slow trading due to health problems. Not transferrable so safe to trade with, just moving is painful and can't always access the cards. Welcome. I see bbcardz already pointed you in the direction of a couple important threads, so I won't pound those into you. As far as your question about using paypal or anything else, please understand that this is a crowd-sourced site, and the trading/matching capabilities are strictly there for our convenience. The site has ZERO part in the control of funds and/or cards. It's like the old days - you and your trade partner need to be able to trust each other and must make all the communications as to what is expected from each of you. You don't want the card sent in a PWE, tell the other person that. You want to receive funds a certain way, tell them that. Make all of your arrangements, then "agree" to the deal. The Admin did implement a feedback system to help people be able to have better comfort levels. Since you're new here, most likely the extablished members that deal with you may ask you to send first. (There have been several rip-off artists that have signed up here, but they are quickly spotted this way, and dealt with as well as several newbies who get on here, try to make 30 trades in 2 days, and can't fill all the trades because they didn't realize they included the same card that tey only had one of in 5 trades and/or they didn't have the materials to ship, or they get in way over their head.)
In short, regarding trading/buying/selling - you're pretty much on your own to do as you like.

-- Dan -- Note: Please see my profile for more info regarding trading (section updated 3/4/2024). I have added a large portion of my inventory to the site, and currently have trading turned on (details are in my profile).

Lots of great and helpful stuff on this site - traders, card info, things to do. Make this site whatever you want it to be. Have fun and enjoy!

I am one of the members that helps within the site. I work closely with the IRs and can answer most questions. Please send me a message if there is anything I can assist with. If I don't know, I can certainly try to figure it out or direct you to a resource.
