I was at a LCS this past weekend and I saw 2018-2019 Panini Status rack packs on sale for 65 dollars. Yes, 65 dollars. The same type of rack pack I had purchased from target for 4.99 when they were released not that long ago.

Going to stores is fine but there are other ways of finding cards go to flea markets in your areas and antique centers in your areas. I always find cards wherever I am at home in Pittsburgh, on vacation in New York, New Jersey or in florida. Some of my best deals were done in a flea market or in a antique center.

I'm in a self-imposed hiatus on buying much of anything right now, but I still glance at the card aisle in my local DFW Targets. Cleaned out.

Turning off trading because my collection is in complete disarray after moving and I don't know when I can get it organized.

That's it everyone, it is time to organize and all get part-time jobs at retail megastores so that we can put an end to all of this. Yes, you will have to hang up baby clothes. Yes, you will need to memorize every aisle in the place so that you can direct someone to find where the shinpads or humidifiers are precisely located. But you will rule the card aisle.

Where do the flippers dump their commons? I fear some may trash them...

Yeah, if only those chains would come build a store in my town, I would be all set.

I'm going to reevaluate how I collect after the new year. It's just getting way too expensive for the new stuff. Sometimes I just want to buy a pack, not a whole box or even blaster.

Like I said at the start, I checked Walgreens. My rite-aid never has them. The only cards I see are pokemon, magic and Yu-Gi-Oh. My city is small so I know where to look, it's just sold out. This jerk even said years ago that if somebody else opened up a sports card shop he would reopen his just to put them out of business. Guess what? He did.

I've been wondering this too. I am shocked at how hard it has been to complete the archives base set with just needing commons! No one on here seems to have spares and everyone on eBay is charging $1/card + shipping. I can't justify spending $50 on commons to complete a set valued at only $60.

I don't like it, I won't buy them at the markup prices, but.... the flippers woulnd't be able to flip if they weren't selling. As always, the consumer must share the blame. I understand that when you hold the product you set the price, but if the product doesn't sell at the price set, you lower the price. If it does sell, you continue to raise the price until it levels out. That's what has been happening, and frankly I am not at all surprised that a large number of this site's wonderful community isn't participating, even if it means it is that much harder for us to find the newer cards these days.

Chuck and I are both in your corner. He scours eBay for breaks puts in our mathematical bid and that's it. It's been over a year since I saw anything but the low end upper deck hockey stuff ...... I sadly just buy what I can off of the E
