Yes, it's almost akin to a bad selection to the Hall of Fame. Once something is identified as a "card," you have people incorporating those "cards" into their player wantlists, etc.
But I do think it would be possible for Beckett to create multiple categories of card-like collectibles. One category could consist of 5x7 photos, 8x10 photos and any team-issued blank-backed photos. While I would never say that those things are any less collectible than anything else, they're really not baseball cards in the sense that most people think of them. And when Beckett lists photos as cards without identifying their true characteristics, it creates confusion. Often Beckett provides no information that would allow the user to know that the particular item is actually an oversized blank-backed photo.
