Not a dime, I don't do post-career cards unless they happen to fall in my lap.

Maybe you can wait him out. If it does not sell, make an offer. What do you have to lose ????

I am a Joe Pepitone fan and would pay zip for something from his post-playing days. I would rather have a card from each of the teams he has played for which would probably add up to two bucks.

Nothing. I hate post-career cards. To me they have absolutely no value. Nothing but a money grab by card companies.

Someday my cards may double in value and then be worth half of what I paid for them.

I wouldn't pay that much for a Donruss product where the team name/logo is airbrushed out. I bought a PSA graded 7 Mike Schmidt rookie card for $275. It's what I could afford at the time so I got it. If I could afford a higher grade card I would buy it.

I agree with a few of the others. I PSA Master Set Registry collect Mattingly but dont buy any of his post-playing year cards. Im in a FB group of Donnie card collectors and a bunch of guys drool and collect every variation of sticker auto but I have ZERO interest.
If you KNOW you want the card, Id wait it out like someone else suggested. Do you have competition for Evans cards?

Plus, he never really signed the card. His auto, yes. But he never touched the card.

Yeah, not to pile on, but...I don't care about autographs, but if I did, I'd want him to have touched the actual card. I don't really like post-playing day cards (although I like the modern Gypsy Queens; I just wouldn't go all out for them). And I don't like weird, one-of-one-we're-trying-to-make-cash cards. Give me a vintage card of a favorite player in his playing days any time.
That said, you might like and collect these things. In that case, your price point is your price point. I've managed to never pay more than $175 for a card. Others have kept it much lower than that. Others have gone much higher. If you like autographs of your favorite player on a unique card, $200 might be perfectly reasonable.
But make an offer first.

I was a little surprised with the lack of love for post playing day cards. Thinking about it I stayed away from these type of cards for a while but decided to pursue them. After all Darrell Evans has less than 350 unique cards produced to date which I have nearly all the playing day cards. If there were thousands of cards I probably would make a cut off date. I cannot imagine trying to collect all of the Nolan Ryan cards or others that have thousands produced.
