I am opening packs from a box of 1993 Upper Deck Baseball cards. I haven't owned them since new, so I don't know the history of how the previous owner stored them (apparently not in a location with a lack of humidity). Many cards are sticking together and are damaged. I've been reading that other collectors experience the same thing when they pack their storage boxes too tight (especially with glossy cards). That made me question the way I store my commons. I put EVERY card I own in a penny sleeve.
Question: I assume that the likeliness of my cards stored in penny sleeves in boxes have less of a chance of sticking than those who store in boxes without penny sleeves. Am I right to assume this? I'v been working on the assumption that the likeliness of cards sticking to the sleeve material is less likely than them sticking together (with all other factors being equal - dry, out of the sun...). Am I on the right track?
