Question to football collectors. I usually collect more than one set per year. In the past I have been doing Score, Panini Prestige, and Donruss. To my angst, there is no Prestige and Donruss as far as I can tell for 2018. I would like to collect at least 1 other set from Score, but I am unfamiliar with the other sets.
So, my question to Football Collectors...what is a good second set for me to focus on in 2018? I am totally unfamiliar with the other sets the database lists as being issued in 2018. Thanks!

I struggle with that too. OK, I was always a topps guy and with them gone I really haven't found a set I am happy with for collecting. I liked prizm for a while but grew tired of that too. I will follow to hear what others like.

depends what your goal is and what interest you and if you're looking for low , med, or high sets... Contenders is always popular but very hard and expensive to get all the auto's,, you can see where i'm at on the 2016 set. Absolute can be good. Prizm is also another popular set for low-med range, also Rookie and Stars. for the higher end which can take sometime depending on how fast you want to blow through money, Flawless, Immacualte, National Treasures.

I always liked the lower end to middle of the road stuff. The Prestige was cool, like the Score, since they had over 400 cards. Topps was my favorite and I still shed a tear when 2015 ended. 2016 I found Prestige and liked it. Donruss also had 400 or more.

Quick reply, try Classics! The 2017 set had 300 cards. The 1st 100 are veteran players, #101-200 are retired players and #201-300 are rookies. None of the 300 cards are short-printed, but several of the veterans do have a Black and White SP version. Just an idea for you to ponder.

I'd hold off to see what Prestige and Donruss have to offer for this year. I love Score this year. I want to put the whole set together eventually

Classic seems like a good option that I forget about each year until I'm already well into Prestige. I might go that route this year. I like Score too, but I don't like the fact that it comes out before the Draft and therefore the rookies don't have their NFL teams listed.

Is Panini doing Prestige and Donruss this year. I haven’t seen a release date and the Panini website says nothing. Also, there is no placeholder in the database for these sets. Some on the thread seem to allude to the sets but I can’t find any indication they will be out.

In the previous two years Panini would release Prestige in the first week of June and Donruss in the first week of August.
