Every card that I keep goes, at minimum, into a penny sleeve. Most of my collection goes into one of several four-row boxes, sorted by year, then set, then card number. Hockey sets I collect will eventually go into a binder - I usually start transferring them to binders at about 75% completion. For baseball, I only collect team sets now, and my plan is to sort those into binders - one for the Blue Jays and one for the Tigers. Those will be sorted by year, then by set, then alphabetically by player.
Outside of the "main collection," some cards (Young Guns, UD Canvas, cool inserts or parallels) will go in a top-loader. The really special ones will be upgraded to a one-touch. The top-loader or one-touch choice comes down to my personal opinion of the card, not its resale value.
