Adding on to Dan's comment.
Two of the things have already been addressed by Admin; sometimes we (the members) seem to be ignoring them or unaware of them.
(1.) What is the naming convention for cross-promotional sets?
For sets that were manufactured by one company and released by a different company, if both company names are present on the card, the set's name should reflect both names.
Examples:
- Topps K-Mart
- Topps Woolworth
- Upper Deck McDonald's
- Upper Deck Post
(2.) Food Issue
Cards released with and/or packaged with food products.
Both of those points are from Admin and are posted on the site. To me they are both clear. The other issue that has been discussed (Ultra vs Fleer Ultra) (Stadium Club vs Topps Stadium Club). I don't think there is an official ruling by Admin. Lots of discussion in the forums; but I'm not aware of any guidance from Admin.
I appreciate good discussion about TCDB issues but calling for Admin action when action has already been taken, is not getting at the heart of our issues. We as a community are either ignoring Admin guidance because we don't like it or we don't know the guidance and are just doing our best.
Either way, points 1 and 2 above are admin's guidance.

The naming issue (Fleer Ultra vs. Ultra) has been addressed by Admin.
IRs were put in by various members to request changing the names to include Fleer, Topps, etc. They have been turned over to Admin, Admin made no changes and closed the IRs, therefore, Admin has said that they will remain AS IS.
So, even Point 3 has already been addressed.
The point is, if you see an inconsistency at this point, it's time to make it meet the guidelines already in place.

I try to avoid reading some of these tired old argument that come up over and over and over and over again in the forums, but I'm in hour 31 of a 26 hour train ride, I'm tired, I'm hungry, and I have a 3 hour drive ahead of me when I finally get back to Springfield, so I was desperate... For common, mainstream, flagship sets that are older than the site itself, like 1991 Ultra, I always assume that Admin probably added those checklists himself when he created the site, so they are in as he wants them. If he wanted Fleer Ultra, then later Fleer/Skybox Fleer Ultra, and now Upper Deck Fleer Ultra, he would probably have done it that way himself. He's the one who still, even now, adds major releases and names them when he puts them on the release calendar, months before we have the ability to add a checklist. That's not Dan. That's not Clyde. That's Admin naming those sets. This has nothing to do with food issues, but the conversation has strayed.

I'm going to reevaluate how I collect after the new year. It's just getting way too expensive for the new stuff. Sometimes I just want to buy a pack, not a whole box or even blaster.

(1) Can be found here.
(2) Can be found here.
(3) I don't have a link for this one. Based on Dan's comments this is based off of Admin's actions not his written guidance. I believe these are all Major Releases so we (members) can't edit the name field. When IR's have been submitted to add Fleer to the Ultra sets or Topps to the Stadium Club Sets, Admin has closed those IRs without making changes. In the military we referred to that as "policy through practice".

TY Chad,
Not to be picky, but specific, yet following ADMIN's directives.
#1 - Yes but not in order, so Why wouldn't a member [although there is an example], think both being KMART/TOPPS. I've learned my being specific lesson. lol.
#2 - Yes, but guaranteed, loopholes will be found. lol. Packaged with.... Then how How do we handle the numerous Food Issues listed that are not Packaged with.....
#3 - Right, just a lot of forum banter. However I do see the argument for sets: named ULTRA, STADIUM CLUB yet TOPPS CHROME instead of CHROME or TOPPS HERITAGE instead of HERITAGE but then again What about Bowman Chrome or Heritage?
Consistency......

1961 Post Cereal had a mail-in version in addition to the ones on the boxes. And there were some Post or Jell-O samples that were inserted in magazines.

Someday my cards may double in value and then be worth half of what I paid for them.

What I do for my own personal collection...if it's a unique design I put the company that commissioned it first (or only). Example being the McDonald's NBA set of 1992-93. It's a unique design, yet clearly Upper Deck. so I have them labeled as McDonald's Upper Deck.
The 1992-93 Fleer Drake's and Tony's Pizza sets both use the same design, so they are labeled as Fleer Tony's Pizza or Fleer Drake's.
Some, like the McDonald's hockey sets, are just labeled McDonald's. It just "feels right", and the fact that they were made by what, three different companies? It just further cements the fact that the brand of McDonald's is more important than whoever they happened to have supply the cards that year.
-------------------------------
VERY slow trading due to health problems. Not transferrable so safe to trade with, just moving is painful and can't always access the cards. Not a food issue, but at different times, I think nearly every company in the industry made cards for Starting Lineup. In addition to them sometimes making their own. I can definitely picture Topps, Fleer, Upper Deck, and Pacific in my mind. I think Score may have too, though I don't have a specific one in my mind.
