Not sure they should have labelled these artists proof. Just another pointless insert though.

I also think the whole "Press Proof" and "Artist's Proof" parallel naming is silly, since those are steps in the printing processes that literally have nothing to do with these cards or the way they look. Same with "1st Edition" (Even on the rare times that Topps has released that set first before flagship, its still a wholly meaningless label). 

I remember the "Make-Ready" cards that came out with the 2008 SAGE HIT football set. I'm almost sure these were a total gimmick, but they were akin to printing plates (card for each color in the printing/dye process), but 50 of each color were issued for each player. A "Make-Ready" is using a paper specifically designed to produce test prints. I'm not sure if the 50 cards of each player were valid "Make-Readies" like printing plates are, but it at least had the appearance of being so, unlike these silly Press and Artist's proofs that are nothing like what they describe.
