“ At first I thought it odd that a strictly Eurasian bird was in a songbirds of North America set, but upon further research I learned that the species was split up by scientists due to differences in plumage. The bird pictured on this card is now known as an American or Buff-Bellied Pipit, Anthus rubescens, and can be found on both sides of the Pacific. The bird now referred to as the Water Pipit (Anthus spinoletta) is the solely Eurasian bird. ” -MichelHollaback
