Year: 1998

Set: Fleer Tradition (Rate)

Card: #276 Keith Foulke

“ Loved this guy in Boston. He was so underappreciated during the 2004 season. He kind of fell off afterwards but I always appreciated how much he loved pitching even when he was awful. He always got a bad rap that I feel was undeserved. As for the card, I love the design on this one. ” -pugchump

“ Great photo. I love edge to edge cards. But that back, that back just screams late 90s fleer and I want to burn it. ” -parsley24

“ Simple, elegant design. Probably could have made the stats on the back a bit larger ” -Musclebeech

“ surely im not the only one that thinks the white sox logo looks like a skunk right? ” -Thunderfoot

This was one of the best Fleer Tradition designs IMO. It slowly got worse after this set in all sports. Honestly, it shouldn't have been called Traditions anyway. There was nothing traditional about it and the later releases of this product at lest looked like older cards. However, I don't care about current cards looking like old cards. Show off the modern technology and give me some shiny and flashy cards! That's what this was in 1998. I really miss the competition of the mid and late 1990's!

I like this design. Nothing crazy. Just a border to border (or is there a slim white border?) photo of the player with real baseball stuff in the background. No crazy bursts of colors or alien spaceships or whatever. Using a different photo on the back is always a good thing in my book. The back design is ok. I like there are stats. It's his baseball card and it should be all about him!

I like that Fleer design. Foulke got the final out in the 2004 World Series.
